Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site

This site has the largest and the most influential urban settlement in the culture of Mississippi and the site includes 120 mounds and over 1,600 hectares of land area. Cahokia Mounds is located in St. Clair County in Illinois and the mounds date back to the 8th and 15th centuries. The communities started settling here even before European contact with America.

Everglades National Park
